Do Bad Things Happen in Threes?

Well it has been a bad week for all things mechanical. The second failure of the week has just occurred: my good watch packed in yesterday evening. Wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t so god damn expensive to service.

I’m tempted to disable and turn off everything else mechanical just in case the “Bad Things Happen in Threes” theory is right. God knows what will be next. Please let it be something cheap and/or disposable for once!

    Bad things do come in threes. On a golf course, however, there is an added consideration:

    Bad shots come in threes. After you realise that your fourth shot was bad too, it’s worth remembering that the fourth shot is actually the start of the next sequence of three bad shots.

    Your “good” watch? Wear your bad watch for a while…or does its “badness” stem from poor time-keeping?
