Battlestar Galati-kaka

I’ve loved watching Battlestar Galactica over the last four years. Last night the ultimate episode aired on Sky One in the UK, an event on which I’d be patiently waiting for months. The first half of the finale night was up to the usual high standards, but what the frak was the rest about!

As the Vancouver Sun commented:

The Adam-and-Eve ending is a terrible sci-fi cliche, even though Rod Serling managed to get away with it in one of his classic Twilight Zone episodes. It’s creative writing 101: If you’re writing a dystopian science-fiction tale, do not write an Adam-and-Eve ending. It’s already been done countless times, and better.

Anders should have taken the show writers and producers on the final joy ride into Earth’s sun! You guys made a clusterfrak with that ending. I couldn’t believe it was the same show I was watching last night as the one I’d spent the last few years enjoying! You’re a bunch of motherfrakers for wrecking a great series!

Here’s hoping the spin-off series, “Caprica”, is more BSG pre-finale episode rather than that excuse of a last hour. I’ll don’t think I’ll bother if it is going to continue in a similar vein as BSG ended.

Barack’s Speech … A Suggestion

My attempt on the Barack Obama Inauguration Speech Generator:

My fellow Americans, today is a mischievous day. You have shown the world that "hope" is not just another word for "forest", and that "change" is not only something we can believe in again, but something we can actually engorge.

Today we celebrate, but let there be no mistake – America faces gregarious and scheming challenges like never before. Our economy is crunchy. Americans can barely afford their mortgages, let alone have enough money left over for soldiers. Our healthcare system is pink. If your sphincter is sick and you don’t have insurance, you might as well call a Lumberjack. And America’s image overseas is tarnished like a anal dilator sticker. But running together we can right this ship, and set a course for White House.

Finally, I must thank my murky family, my flashing campaign volunteers, but most of all, I want to thank Pixies for making this historic occasion possible. Of course, I must also thank you, President Bush, for years of watching the American people. Without your blue efforts, none of this would have been possible.

Who Needs to See Star Wars

Never Thought I’d See It

Tommy and the Job Centre

Just as well the Celebrity Big Brother gig came along for Comrade Tommy Sheridan as it looks like he was struggling to get a job fixed up!

Our Tommy

Tommy Sheridan may well be on Celebrity Big Brother, but who’d have believed he’s already tried to get on TV! Well, here’s the proof of him trying to get onto QVC.

Hilarious Muppet Bloopers

I don’t remember this from the show, but this has to be some of the funniest moments not to be seen on TV!

A Timeless Classic

You wouldn’t believe this song was first released in 1992!

Artist: Ultra-sonic
Title:
Obsession

I’ve seen them live a few times and they are one of the best live dance acts I’ve ever seen. “Obsession” is without doubt their best and you simply can’t resist dancing like it was your last dance ever!

Still gives me goose-bumps listening to it today.

A Tribute to Wee Wendy

In light of the resignation of Wendy Alexander as the Leader of the Labour Group in the Scottish Parliament, I think this is an opportune moment to come up with a tribute. Rather than use the usual  NuLabour type spin that we’ve all become accustomed to, I thought we’d do it in song!

Enjoy ….

I just couldn’t believe her blaming the SNP for a witch hunt. If anything, the top people of the SNP called off the attack dogs and were working hard to keep her at the top of the NuLabour dung heap. She was fighting a more effective campaign for Scottish independence than the nationalists could ever manage at this point in their grand plan!

Let’s see if any of the NuLabour MSPs want to step into the role of Leader of the Political Wilderness Party. Can’t wait to see NuLabour being decimated in Scotland… long overdue if you ask me. There are one or two of that lot who are skilled politicians and could give Alex Salmond a run for his money, but I don’t expect we’ll see any of them putting their name forward for leader until it looks like NuLabour are turning around their fortunes… so that will be a decade or two then!

My Gran would have been so proud to see the SNP doing so well. She and my grandad voted SNP for years, even during the times when they were nobodies in Scotland. It is just sad that she is only here in spirit :-( .  At least her spirit observed me putting the cross in the correct place at the last elections.
