Jack Who?

Scottish Election 2007 Results – enough said :-D .

Gran would have been ecstatic.

It is quite alarming the dominance of Labour in the central belt of Scotland. When will people in Glasgow, Edinburgh and inbetween realise they don’t need to vote for Labour simply because their father and grandfather voted Labour! They have a choice and can vote for parties other than Tony’s Gordon’s croonies.

In areas like Airdrie & Shotts they still voted in their droves to keep Labour, even although it was the Lib-Lab administration who’d made the plan to close their local A&E. The SNP had given a manifesto commitment to reverse this decision, so WTF were these people thinking!

Shouldn’t This Be Over Already?

Mr Thistle’s vote certainly went the right way, which makes the few minutes driving him to the polling station very worthwhile.

It is truly a great shame that so many people didn’t take the time to understand the voting systems and how to place their mark on the ballot papers. The information leaflets through the door and included with the postal voting paperwork explained it reasonably well.

The Scottish people have seen through the Labour hoodwinking scam of the last two Scottish Parliaments. Gran would have been so happy and proud that the SNP look to have finally done it or at the very least, given Labour a kickin’.

Driving Mr Thistle

Stopped in on a mate this evening and found out he hadn’t yet voted. We’ll he was bundled into the car and dropped off at the polling station when I found out his vote was going the way of the SNP.

Don’t know about anyone else but I’m well excited over the coming hours to hopefully see New Labour getting a well deserved kickin’. I hope everyone has been out and exercised their democratic right, well apart from any “care in the community” folk who still think Labour are for the working man.

MPAA Don’t Care About Copyright – It is Official!

The author of ForestBlog says he has discovered that the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) has been using his blog software in violation of the license.

Read his initial posting and then follow the link through to the MPAA Update posting.

So it is now okay to use copyright work in violation of the license as long as “it is for test purposes only!” Anyone for testing the lastest movies via Bit Torrent, Limewire, etc?!?

These pirates are scumbags, ask the MPAA!

The Legal DDOS

DDOS or Distributed Denial of Service is the term used when multiple computers overload another computer (server) with some many requests that it becomes unavailable. How would you do this legally:

1. Have a system that penalises people for using it late instead of rewarding them for using it early thereby ensuring it is overloaded as the penalty cutoff date approaches.

2. Schedule a personnel strike to drive even more traffic to your website on the cutoff day.

3. Ensure you have invested just enough money in the system that it collapses on its busiest day of the year.

Who’s the best in the world for this:

Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs and the system in question, “Self Assessment Online”!

… and the response from their website while making your way through the tax return:

Bad request
Your browser sent a query this server could not understand.

Did we ask it to process some tax information or something similarly ackward?

SFO Sees Sense

Thank goodness people in power have seen some sense and told the Serious Fraud Office to get a life! By getting a life they’ve realised that standard of conduct in Saudi circles are very different to our own “great than thou” double standards in the west.

The PC (politically correct, not police constable) brigade also need to get a life and understand the very great dangers this investigation posed to the UK: our national security and more importantly, the loss of income to the economy and the threat to UK jobs that would like have resulted in the loss of Saudi business.

People need to face it that western values aren’t the be all and end all. Other cultures have different ethics and standards and we should respect them. If securing Saudi goodwill and business requires a sweetener or two then so be it.

I’m betting all those politicians got to the top by sheer talent and ability…. not a single underhand or deceitful deal will have ever been done!

Bye, bye Donald. Bye, bye!

As a swan-song to Donald Rumsfeld, we thought this video clip was appropriate!

Be Strong Honey

A man escapes from a prison where he’s been locked up for 15 years. He breaks into a house to look for money and guns. Inside, he finds a young couple in bed. He orders the guy out of bed and ties him to a chair. While tying the homeowners wife to the bed, the convict gets on top of her, kisses her neck, then gets up and goes into the bathroom.

While he’s in there, the husband whispers over to his wife, “Listen, this guy is an escaped convict. Look at his clothes! He’s probably spent a lot of time in jail and hasn’t seen a woman in years. I saw how he kissed your neck. If he wants sex, don’t resist, don’t complain… do whatever he tells you. Satisfy him no matter how much he nauseates you. This guy is obviously very dangerous. If he gets angry, he’ll kill us both. Be strong, honey. I love you!”

His wife responds, “He wasn’t kissing my neck. He was whispering in my ear. He told me that he’s gay, thinks you’re cute, and asked if we had any Vaseline. I told him it was in the bathroom. Be strong honey. I love you, too!”

Just Steal Their Wheelchairs Instead

Disabled parking sign

Just went around to the bank and while parking noticed a woman driving into a disabled parking bay without any indication that she was disabled – no badges were in view. She then proceeded to bracingly walk across to the bank machine.

While passing the conversation went along the lines, “Excuse me, but do you realise that is a disabled space you’re parked in!”.

To which she replied, “Yes, I did!”

That really got my blood boiling. She actually knew and couldn’t care less. At that point I went into the bank and started to make the transactions with the teller.

Moments later the bank door swung open with a greeting, “Excuse me, but what business is it of yours anyway?”.

Fuck her I thought and remarked, “It is all our businesses!”

Transaction over it was time to make my way home, but first the bitch in the navy blue Ford Ka (only wish I had your registration number) drove past with the window open. Before she got a chance to make another comment I blurted out, “That is downright ignorant!”

Perhaps next time she sees a disabled person she’d like to kick-over or steal their wheelchair?

What is it with people, like the Ford Ka bitch, who think the disabled wording on parking bays is an optional extra that doesn’t apply to them? Why did she even own up to knowing it was disabled and still feel that she had a moral right to challenge me back? Do people like her have no conscience or are they so wrapped up in their own selfish little life that they don’t care less?

It is about time that this became as unpalitable to the general public as drinking under the influence. Our disabled and infirm citizens would appreciate that change in attitude.

I’m still fuming inside at this bitch’s attitude. May she never need a disabled parking space since there probably won’t be one available. Fuck her!

Israeli Warcrimes

I bet you thought I was going to go on about the current warcrimes being committed by Israel in Lebanon! Well no, I was in fact going to point people towards a lesser known attack against the US.

War Crimes Committed Against U.S. Military Personnel, June 8, 1967

The attack in itself was bad enough, but the duplicity in the cover-up is a treasonous act by officials against their government, its people and those brave servicemen who sacrificed their lives performing their duty. These criminals should be identified, given a fair trial and when found guilty, put away out of harms way for a very long time.

This kind of makes it questionable about the “mistakes” we’ve seen over the last few weeks. Not that I’m advocating that Hezzbola should remain in existence. Both sides need to recognise that violence on either side simple increases the animosity and widens the gulf between Israel and Lebanon. The overwhelming majority of citizens on either side simply wish to live in peace, bring up their family and enjoying whatever pleasures they have in their life.

Dialogue and compromise are the only long term solution.

Concrete Answer for Tommy!

The quote of July must go to Gail Sheridan, wife of Tommy Sheridan. The conversation in court went along the lines of:

Tom Sheridan asked his wife, “Are you only here to standby your husband?”

She replied: “There is no way I would be here. Neither would you. You would be in the Clyde with a piece of concrete tied round you and I would be in court for your murder. I can assure you of that right now.”

Pure class and just the type of response that will turn a jury to believing Tommy’s side of the argument.

Madness, pure madness!

Petrodollar or Petroeuro?

A few months ago I watched a TV programme on how the US economy was dependent upon the Petrodollar for its survival. The failure of the US Dollar to be tied to a real world commodity e.g. silver or gold, results in a very crazy monetary policy! At least the British pound is still based on silver, so we’re not printing our money on the never, never!

This article should scare the living daylights out of most Americans and British citizens. Our leaders may be taking us towards war with Iran under the WMD banner… now I kind of recall something along those lines after Iraq stop trading oil in dollars and moved over to the euro.

It looks like the policy adopted in Iraq has resulted in a greater threat to the US. The lack of oil production in Iraq has resulted in rising oil prices on the world market, resulting in even more profits for the other oil producing countries of the world e.g. Iran and Russia. Good luck to these countries in challenging the US dollar as the international currency. Why should the world have faith in a currency that is flawed?

Hopefully, the media will show much better scrutiny of our government if this transpires and reveal the true reasons for going to war. Sounds like the US needs to send in the troops to invade… the US… to get the monetary reforms required to give the US long term stability not based on petroleum.
