MPAA Don’t Care About Copyright – It is Official!

The author of ForestBlog says he has discovered that the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) has been using his blog software in violation of the license.

Read his initial posting and then follow the link through to the MPAA Update posting.

So it is now okay to use copyright work in violation of the license as long as “it is for test purposes only!” Anyone for testing the lastest movies via Bit Torrent, Limewire, etc?!?

These pirates are scumbags, ask the MPAA!

Mujibar was trying to get a job in India.

The Personnel Manager said, “Mujibar, you have passed all the tests, except one. Unless you pass it you cannot qualify for this job.”

Mujibar replied, “I am ready.”

The manager said, “Make a sentence using the words Yellow, Pink and Green.”

Mujibar thought for a few minutes and said, “Mister manager, I am ready.”

The manager said, “Go ahead.”

Mujibar said, “The telephone goes green, green, and I pink it up, and say, ‘Yellow, this is Mujibar.’”

Mujibar now works as a technician at a call center for computer problems. No doubt you have spoken to him.

Tax Disc Arrives

The car tax disc duly arrived this morning. What a time saver this new online system is for renewing your car excise duty.

I can highly recommend for everyone to give it a try.

Kudos to DVLA

It is that time of year again when the car TAX is due for renewal. Now where did I put that car insurance certificate and the current MOT document? Well there is now no need to find them!

DVLA has put in place a cracking system that makes renewing the vehicle excise duty so so simple. They perform an automatic check on the vehicle, ensuring it has a current insurance policy in place and there is a valid MOT in force. Way cool!

At last a government IT project that seems to deliver! Having said that I’m still waiting on the license disc arriving through the post… I’ll keep you updated.

ID Cards Farce

The government has secured the necessary votes to progress the farce known as the ID card. There are a great many things wrong with how this is being sold to us:

1. It will not stop terrorism. The London bombers would have been carrying an ID card if it had already been implemented.

2. It will not come in on cost or time! Name me one government IT projects that has come in on time, cost and has functioned correctly?

3. It will only cost £30, or just under £100 when combined with a passport application. That is the direct cost to the public. Guess who will meet the rest of the costs through their taxes?

4. There are civil liberty issues. It won’t be long before the system is hacked or details leak into the public domain.

5. There is not such thing as a secure system, well not one that is switched on!

Well the government has still to get this through the House of Lords! Here’s hoping they attach so many amendments to this that it either works or becomes a complete lemon.

A Mac Rant

I found this amusing and it backs up my earlier experience of MACs:

I’m Joining the Majority by Putting the Mac Aside in 2005

Good for designers, suckie for everything else!

(That should anger a few MAC users out there! Eah John M?)

Internet Helpdesks – The Truth

We’ve all had to call our ISP’s helpdesk at some point. I’ve always suspected that they got special training to really piss off the customer! Now I’ve found the truth:

Live Internet Helpdesk

and scroll down the video playback page to play the adult version!

The live version is the best IMHO.
